What Are 007’s Aston Martin DB5 (Obsidian Gold) Wheels?
007’s Aston Martin DB5 (Obsidian Gold) Wheels are exclusive vehicle cosmetics for Fortnite. They feature the iconic styling of James Bond’s signature car in a sleek obsidian gold finish.
These wheels were created as part of a cross-promotion between Epic Games and IO Interactive. The collaboration celebrates the upcoming 007 First Light game release. When you see these wheels on vehicles in Fortnite, they immediately signal that you are a James Bond fan.
The promotion works across two games. You get the wheels in both Fortnite and Rocket League with a single purchase. This dual-game bonus adds extra value for players who enjoy both titles.
The Truth About ‘Free’ – What You Actually Need to Do
Let me clear up the biggest misconception right now. The 007 First Light wheels are marketed as a “free gift with purchase.” That wording confuses many players.
You must buy 007 First Light to get these wheels. The game typically costs between $50 and $70 depending on the edition. The wheels themselves cost nothing extra, but they require that game purchase.
Both pre-orders and purchases after release qualify. You do not need to pre-order specifically. Any purchase of 007 First Light on the Epic Games Store triggers the bonus.
I have seen many players disappointed when they realize the wheels require a full game purchase. Epic Games uses “gift” terminology because the wheels arrive automatically without additional payment. But make no mistake, you are paying for a game to get these cosmetics.

Item Details and Cross-Game Availability
The 007 First Light wheels work in both Fortnite and Rocket League. This dual compatibility makes them a unique cross-game cosmetic.
In Fortnite, these wheels apply to drivable vehicles across the battle royale map. They change the appearance of your tires to feature the obsidian gold Aston Martin styling.
In Rocket League, the wheels function as standard cosmetic items. They replace your default wheel appearance during matches.
The wheels are classified as limited edition promotional items. This rarity status means they will likely never appear in the Fortnite Item Shop. The only way to obtain them is through this specific 007 First Light promotion.
What If Your Wheels Don’t Appear?
Sometimes bonus items take longer than expected to arrive. Here is what to do if your wheels do not show up.
Wait the full 7 days before contacting support. Epic Games explicitly states this timeframe. Most delivery issues resolve automatically within this window.
Double-check your account linking. Your Epic Games account must connect to the same Fortnite account you play on. Platform account linking (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch) must also be correct.
Verify your purchase completed successfully. Check your Epic Games Store order history. Look for the purchase confirmation email.
Contact Epic Games Support if 7 days pass without delivery. They can verify your eligibility and track the item grant status.
